Reports & Planning FAQs

Do I receive an archaeological report?

Yes. Archaeological projects normally result in a written report documenting the work undertaken, the results and any archaeological remains or finds encountered.

Depending on the project, the report may also contain photographs, drawings, plans, historic research and specialist assessments.

Who receives the archaeological report?

The report will normally be supplied to the client and submitted to the appropriate archaeological authority as required.

Information from archaeological investigations may also be deposited with the relevant Historic Environment Record and archaeological archive.

Does the archaeological report discharge my planning condition?

The Local Planning Authority is responsible for formally discharging planning conditions.

A.P.A.C. Ltd can undertake the required archaeological work and provide the documentation needed to support the discharge of the archaeological condition, but the final decision remains with the planning authority.
