Evaluation

Archaeological evaluation trenching is usually undertaken prior to submission of a planning application in order to establish the presence or absence of archaeological remains within an area of proposed development.

An evaluation involves the digging of individual trenches across the development area, usually by machine, with their location often aided by a previously undertaken geophysical survey. APAC Ltd undertake many such evaluation projects each year across England and Wales and will happily guide you through the process.
